Glutathione is a well-characterised endogenous thiol tripeptide central to cellular redox defence and phase II detoxification. It is a standard laboratory redox reagent. The evidence for administering it parenterally is exceptionally thin, and several national regulators have issued warnings against the cosmetic injectable use.
